The basic idea of the cabbage soup diet is to make the patient suffering from obesity to eat more and more cabbage soup. You can also eat other foods but you should limit their quantities of intake. You can have other foods with cabbage soup. We will discuss the different types of foods that you can have with cabbage soup during a particular day of the week. Cabbage soup has to be drunk several times a day. There is no limit to how many bowls of cabbage soup you can have in a day. It is entirely your wish to drink as many bowls as you can. You should also drink 7-8 glasses of water everyday. Let us now have a look at the 7 day cabbage soup plan.
On the first day you should have cabbage soup along with fruits. Bananas should not be included in the list of fruits to be eaten. You can also drink tea without sugar, cranberry juice and black coffee. On the second day you can have cabbage soup plus other vegetables which are boiled, raw or steamed. Avoid foods like corn, peas and dry beans. In dinner you should include a baked potato cooked in butter. For the third day you can again have fruits and vegetables along with your cabbage soup. On the fourth day include 8 bananas and fat free milk along with your cabbage soup. On the fifth day you should include 6 tomatoes and about half a kilo of meat and fish. The sixth day again consists of meat and vegetables. On the 7th day you should have cabbage soup with brown rice, fruit juice and vegetables.
The critics of weight loss say that it has not been proved fully that cabbage soup diet does help in weight loss. Also the cabbage soup diet is very monotonous and hence forces most of the people to leave it half way.
